Right, pull up a chair and listen good, you love-struck ninny. You’ve been gallivanting about in your love life and nattering with your mates, acting as if you’re auditioning for a saucy episode of EastEnders. I swear, the sheer thought of it is more entertaining than a night in with a pack of Hobnobs and a Carry On film. The thrill of what could be is like a shiny new penny, distracting you from the pile of to-do’s growing faster than Prince Charles’ ears. So, do us all a favour, keep your head out of the clouds and more in the here and now. And for Pete’s sake, when you’re chin-wagging with the boss, try not to daydream about your latest romantic fling or the next pub crawl. Unless, of course, your boss is into that sort of thing, then by all means, carry on. And here’s a lucky charm, or more accurately, a kick up the backside for you: ‘Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but foresight is better.’ Keep it in mind next time you’re about to make a fool of yourself. A bit of planning wouldn’t go amiss, even if it’s just to remember where you left your dignity.
