THAT CHARISMATIC GENE

Either you were born with a charismatic gene or you were not. Either you were determined to break down limitations and expand your vision of reality or you were not. Either you used your artistic skills to forge a unique lifestyle for yourself or you did not. The aforementioned might appear radical, but Will Mellor is a radical man born with his Sun in Aries and Moon in Taurus. He knows what he wants and gets it, he is ready to take on the world with all its contradictions and challenges. This guy refuses to fail.

He built up his showbiz career from the bottom up therefore, he does not do vague, half-baked, or ambiguous; he does succeed. He is a tenacious bloke with marked yet hidden sensibilities that enable him to excel as an actor. But he has had to pay a price for standing out, for believing in his dream and for rising up the ranks because of it.

THEY THREATENED HIM

He opened out about those challenges when he talked to the Manchester Evening Post. He told them that when he joined the cast of Hollyoaks, his community not only shunned him, but they threatened him.

He said, “Someone sent a letter to Channel Four saying ‘if he comes in the pub again, we’re gonna smash his head in … you better fire him.”

His action was unique, perhaps only to him; he just stood up to his tormentors, even though he never discovered their identities. He continued to pop down the pub, and he probably still does, but these days he does not stay long. He has a stellar career to tend to, plus a beautiful wife and family to enjoy life with. His marriage is interracial, and although he wanted to understand the tensions his wife went through during the US riots after the death of George Flloyd, he admitted it was hard for him.

JUST A HUMAN BEING

He told the Manchester Post that “if you strip us back to our bones, we are all the same. It doesn’t matter what religion; it does not matter about colour. We are just human beings. There is good and bad in everyone.”

A profound thinker, he analyses problems in-depth because his Uranus in Scorpio shows up as philosophical; he wants peace. He might be impulsive at times, and he might even be stubborn or extremist, but there is a spiritual element to his character that he probably does not talk about that much. It includes his faith in justice and truth.

A LOT OF SOUL

Will’s talent excels in TV’s top shows. His Jupiter in Taurus denotes that solid good luck was nearly always on his side. He first stood out in the children’s programme “Children’s Ward”. He has a great singing voice and released a cover of Leo Sayers’s “When I Need You”, which reached number five in the UK singles chart. He made an appearance in Boyzone’s Comic Relief Single. He has played in “The Street”, “Casualty” and the crime drama “Broadchurch, need we go on?

Will does not speak much about his childhood. He has older sisters, one with a severe health problem. In a 2006 blood donation commercial, he discussed his sister’s heart surgery. It must have been hard for him, but then Will has no problem with “hard!”

Let’s face it, there is something about this guy that touches the imagination. Yes, he appears to be your basic bloke, but he has an extra hidden quality, and it is called Soul. Yes, Will Mellor has more than his share of soul!
