Katy Perry
With “rings on her fingers and bells on her toes” she stimulates reactions wherever she goes. Talented, goes without saying, tempestuous, may be, complex, most certainly. But it was 15 year old Katy Perry’s celestial high notes warbling in a local church choir that drew the attention of a couple of Nashville talent scouts; the rest is virtually history. One of a kind, a pure original, she was born in California of pastor parents who could be forgiven for cringing in their pews when Katy wrote the smash hit “I Kissed a Girl!” Katy soon became one of Madonna’s favourite new artists and took the world by storm. In a recent interview, she insisted, “I want to do something different and exciting, to keep people on their toes!” She is certainly not fighting to get noticed: She has her finger in many a controversial pie with songs like “You’re so gay” making it very clear she is laughing uproariously at “the powers that be”. By the way, don’t expect to see Katy on the red carpet in a conservative gown. Past glimpses show her with something akin to a puce serviette on top of her pretty head, it was a vintage hat for those not in the fashion know. And more recently Moschino’s Capsule Collection mimicking McDonalds. An eccentric look coupled with bright clashing colours makes her the darling of avant garde designers. Not only her fashion but her entertaining style is a mix match of mystifying talent. She is quirky, original, a borderline activist cum cheer leader for open minded thinking. But astrologically what is her drift? Surprise, surprise, Katy is a brooding Scorpio, her more light weight shenanigans a cover up for a convoluted nature. She investigates the underworld of human consciousness trying to decipher the complexities of it. Her OTT personality jars as she pokes fun at narrow minded thinking. With her moon also in Scorpio, things get even more intriguing. A publicity shot showing her brandishing a knife could be a case in point. There is something peculiar about her consistent need to look for an edge. But add on Mercury in Scorpio, and you will see her push through life’s endless fiery hoops, with wit, resourcefulness, and a capacity go beyond “masks” There is something almost “Byzantine” about this Mercury placement, it makes her complicated, yet entertaining, multifarious yet mystifying. Fun to be with, her friends would say she has them rolling in the aisles may be because of Venus in Sagittarius. Venus sort of balances out the darker side of her Scorpionic nature. She will be at home with anyone, her need to communicate intense. She will get them dancing, laughing, crying and swinging, again with the help of Sagittarius in Venus. With Mr Mars in Capricorn, she is an organiser she pushes for results, aware of pitfalls she will cultivate “astuteness” in all her dealings. Jupiter in Capricorn helps when it comes to expanding career scope. She will attract the right people, powerful folks who sell her image well. This chick is a rainbow of diversity. She thrives on baffling, mystifying, and making us laugh. For all her complexity she can stare into a cocktail and philosophise for hours about the inexplicable conflicts of the human race, humming her next song! She once joked she was “a thinner version of “Lily Allen” but in reality the only similarity could be their mutually contentious attitude to the “system”. So what is coming up for this creative lady? Believe it or not, Katy will consider a totally new way of thinking this year. She will use it towards expanding her creativity and her career, surprising us with even hotter lyrics. She will be earmarked by the press, and of course those “forces that be” for exaggerating, but that is all grist to her mill. Her fame will increase as a result. But something else could happen, she could connect to that inner knowing, bringing out a more spiritual aspect of her personality that will surprise even her. The profundities of the planet Pluto will guide her to internal transformation, and a totally new door will open. There is a sense the silver screen will be calling her. Whatever way she goes, she will always be tantalising, controversial and have us riveted to our seats. Good luck lady, the planets are on your side!
